What is Squawk?

Squawk is an iOS flight tracker built for plane spotters and military-aviation watchers — the people who hear a jet and go outside.

The one-paragraph version

Squawk is a live flight-tracking app for iPhone. It shows every aircraft the volunteer ADS-B network can see — airliners, general aviation, helicopters, and military — on a live map with altitude-colored trails. What makes it different is what it does when you are not looking at the map: it can push an alert to your lock screen when any aircraft enters an area you care about, when jets or tankers depart a military base you watch, when a rare airframe like a B-52 or U-2 is about to pass overhead, or when an aircraft anywhere in the world declares an emergency.

Plain facts

Who it is for

Spotters who keep a logbook. People who live near a base and want to know what just took off. Avgeeks who want a ping when something rare is inbound instead of refreshing a map. Anyone who has ever heard military traffic overhead and wondered what it was.
